Do the per-permit math
You bill clients per permit — so should your tools. On Pro, the more permits you run, the cheaper each one gets. And the AI pre-check pages are a hard cost per permit, just like filing fees: pass them straight through to the client.
10 permits/mo
≈ $100
per permit on Pro
20 permits/mo
≈ $50
per permit on Pro
40 permits/mo
≈ $25
per permit on Pro
Example math on the $999/mo Pro plan, before AI pre-check pages (billed per page only when you use them).
How page-metered billing works
The permit pipeline itself — running permits, building packets, tracking status — is included in every plan. The meter only runs on the AI code pre-check.
Run the pre-check
Upload a drawing set and run the AI code pre-check from the Permit Runner.
Pages count down
Each PDF sheet pre-checked uses one page from your monthly allotment (40 on Starter, 325 on Pro).
Overage only if needed
Go over, and extra pages bill at your plan’s per-page rate on the next invoice. Nothing ever stops mid-permit.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a "page"?
One page is one PDF sheet in a drawing set you run through the AI code pre-check. Only pages you pre-check count toward your allotment — building packets, managing forms, and tracking permits are unlimited.
What happens when I go over my included pages?
Each extra page is billed at your plan’s per-page rate ($4.50 on Starter, $3.50 on Pro) on your next monthly invoice. Nothing stops mid-permit — the pre-check always runs, and overage simply appears on the next bill.
Do unused pages roll over?
No. Your included pages reset at the start of each billing cycle, so they don’t carry forward. Overage only kicks in for pages beyond your allotment within the same cycle.
Can I switch plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect right away, and your included page allotment updates to the new plan. Pages you’ve already pre-checked this cycle still count.
Is there a plan for large teams?
Yes — if you’re running more than 80 permits at a time, talk to us. Email contact@permitguard.ai and we’ll set up custom pricing for your operation.
Can I pass the AI pre-check cost through to my clients?
Yes — that’s how most expediters use it. The per-page pre-check cost is a hard, itemizable cost per permit, just like filing fees. Add it as a line item on the client invoice; the pipeline itself is covered by your plan.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account billing page and you keep access until the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.
Cancel anytime. No hidden fees.
